Our two family restaurants have common characteristics that are authentic italian.
Initially, we worked on the ambience, following our cultural traditions, leading us to strive to reproduce an atmosphere of elegant intimacy by reassigning value to the beautiful things of the past. We think that this understated elegance invites our guests to concentrate on the pleasure of enjoying food and friends of the dinner party. In order to obtain this ambience and experience, we chose two historic buildings built more than one-hundred years ago and attempted to save as many original parts as possible.
Our Chef/Owner, Luisa Silvia, has defined two different menus that utilize the traditions of the region Emilia Romagna, specifically referring to the city of Bologna. Using only the finest ingredients, many imported from Italy, we present to you:
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Prosciutto di Parma
- Mortadella di Bologna
- Originale Aceto Balsamico di Modena (Original Aged Balsamic Vingear from Modena)
- Prosciutto di San Daniele
- Speck del Tirolo
- Burrata di Puglia
- Olio Extra Virgine di Oliva della Toscana and Umbria
- Tartufi Bianchi di Alba (White Truffle from Alba)
- Tartufi Neri del Umbria (Black Truffle from Umbria)
- and much more...
Luisa Silvia's committment to tradition is firmly based on serving the highest quality ingredients and remaining consistent to her "slow food" philosophy.
Whether you are in the mood for a romantic, fine-dining experience, a casual business lunch, or an exciting dinner party at home, the family of Merlo restaurants, with our volumes of traditional recipes, offers you many tantalizing options.
